Halfway through the Middle Ages, with equal gift of literary and philosophical genius, came the Italian philosopher-poet Dante Alighieri. In his "Divina Commedia", where Ibn Rushd (Averroes) is called the Commentator of Aristotle, of course, par excellence, he is held in high esteem, being placed in a circle reserved for greatest men of Science from the Ancient World. In another of Dante's works, Convivio, where there are prevailing philosophic problems, some topics of clearly Averroist origin can be found. A special attention we must pay to Monarchia, because it can be praxisdescribed as political Averroism, although without the harsh of Marsilius. Besides the philosophical influence we must not forget Dante's political praxis. He agreed Averroes (Ibn Rushd) in his Commentary on De Anima.
