....From 1st April to 16th June 2019 Mary Blindflowers' Art Exhibition will be held at the Naze Tower's floors, Old Hall Lane, Walton-on-the Naze, Essex CO14 8LE; the painter will show her paintings and drawings tightly tied to her writings.
Naze Tower is a 1720 octagonal brick tower built by Trinity House with an evocative sight to the sea and English countryside.
Trinity House was the organization in charge to build lighthouses and protect shipping routes in Great Britain.
A 1673 map mentions the presence of a tower in the same place where the current one stands, therefore the structure was rebuilt in the 1700s.
This was a former shape of a lighthouse, indeed in the upper part there were some holes where a few lamps for the ships utilizing Harwich harbour used to get hung.
