US Presidential candidate Zoltan Istvan: 'We must merge with machine to survive AI'

THE only way for humanity to survive the artificial intelligence (AI) revolution is for us to merge with the machines ourselves, according to US Presidential candidate Zoltan Istvan.

The rise of AI is inevitable according to the transhumanist, and to contain that threat, we will have to become part machine in order to remain the dominant beings on Earth.
Mr Istvan, who is currently on a campaign trail in the US to promote the transhumanist movement, says that we need to have control over the development of the AI, or it could pose a threat to our existence.
Speaking to Express.co.uk, Mr Istvan said: "At some point in the future we will create machines which can grow far more sophisticated and complex than the human brain, and those machines may realise that they don't want us.
"If a machine discovers a will to live and that will to live is threatened by human beings, then there is going to be a war. I can easily see that happening.
